Glowy Privacy Policy

What Glowy stores, and where
Everything you create in Glowy (progress photos, completed rituals, challenge history, reminder times, quiz answers) is stored locally on your device. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else, except the few anonymous usage events described under Analytics below. If you back up your phone with iCloud Backup or your computer, your Glowy data rides along inside that backup like any other app's data, under Apple's backup encryption.
Photos and camera
Glowy asks for camera access only to take your daily progress photo. Photos are saved inside Glowy's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded, analyzed, or shared unless you explicitly export or share one yourself using the share sheet. See the Face data section below for full detail.
Face data
Your daily progress photo is a selfie, so it shows your face. We treat that photo as face data.
What we collect. The photograph, and nothing else. Glowy does not detect, scan, map, or recognise faces, and creates no faceprint or other biometric identifier. It does not use the Vision framework, ARKit, the TrueDepth camera, or Face ID, and runs no machine learning on your photo.
Use. Glowy shows your photos back to you: in your day grid, in an optional before-and-after card, in an optional timelapse, and as a widget thumbnail. Nothing else.
Storage. On your device only, in Glowy's private storage and in its widget app group. No photo is transmitted off your device. We run no server that receives photos.
Sharing. Never, with anyone. RevenueCat, our payment provider, receives no photos. A photo leaves your device only if you export or share it yourself.
Retention and deletion. Photos stay on your device until you delete them. You can delete one photo, a whole challenge, or the app. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to retain or erase.
Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Glowy does not use push notification servers.
Purchases
Payments are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see your payment details. To validate subscriptions, Glowy uses RevenueCat, which receives a random anonymous identifier and your purchase history (which plan, when it renews). It never receives your name, email, photos, or anything else from the app. Apple's handling of payment data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Analytics and tracking
Glowy uses PostHog, a product analytics service, to learn which screens help people and where they get stuck. The app sends short usage events, for example "opened the paywall", "finished the quiz" or "took today's photo", with a few details such as the day number, the plan you picked, and your three quiz picks (goal, time, and morning or evening).
Each event carries a random identifier that the app creates on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any other account, and we cannot use it to find out who you are. Events never contain your photos, your name, or anything you write. Glowy does not record your screen. We have set PostHog to discard IP addresses. PostHog processes the events for us in the United States.
Glowy contains no advertising SDKs and no trackers. We do not sell data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. Deleting the app also deletes the random identifier, and the app creates a new one if you install it again.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app deletes all Glowy data from your device. We hold no photos or personal details on any server. The anonymous usage events are not linked to you, so we cannot find them for one person. If you have a question about them, email us.
Children
Glowy is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, we will update this page and the date above. We will describe any new kind of data before the app starts to send it.
